Get Out of Our Garage!

We cleaned up our garage for Days 24, 25, and 26 of the Get Out of Our House! Challenge.  We targeted one set of shelves for the 24th, another storage area for the 25th, and the rest of the garage for the 26th.  If you’re just tuning in to the Get Out of Our House! Challenge now, you’ve missed some amazing cleanups.  Click here for the whole scoop.

We were really excited to clean out our garage because (1) it was totally out of control in there and (2) we’re hoping to target the garage as our next reno location.  Stay tuned as we get our hands dirty out there!  In the meantime, here are our before/after pictures of our cleanup:

BEFORE:

(We barely had room for our cars with all the stuff in there…)

AFTER:

There is actually still some trash on the left side of the garage as well as the spare tire for Krister’s truck (it needed more air pumped into it, which we’ve now done and it’s back in the truck).

Stats:

  • Disposed: 3 HUGE trash cans full of trash.  Almost nothing we got rid of could be donated.
  • Relocated: 6 (paint and paint supplies)
  • Destroyed: 1 shelf

The shelf we took down was actually pretty interesting.  From the outside, those shelves look to be constructed from some old wine crates.  When we took it down, this is what we found:

This cleanup ranked up there with the laundry room and the basement, in that we see it every day and it makes us happy to come home to a clean house.  Is anyone still cleaning up in there house?  Any fun and interesting finds?
